About Mold

As a leading supplier of forging solutions, EVERGREEN can also provide you with high-performance mold manufacturing. Our services cover mold design, material selection, CNC machining, and heat treatment. The molds we manufacture demonstrate excellent durability during cold forging and hot forging processes.

The five-axis machining centers at our R&D base can process high-precision molds with an accuracy of ±0.005mm. The precision of the forgings we produce is also very high.

Available Forging Materials

Carbon Steel

Carbon steel is a widely used material with relatively low cost. Based on carbon content, it can be classified into low-carbon steel, medium-carbon steel, and high-carbon steel. The higher the carbon content, the lower the toughness and the higher the hardness of the carbon steel, making it suitable for high-strength applications. Due to its high toughness and low hardness, low-carbon steel has excellent machinability and weldability.

Carbon Steel

Aluminum Alloy

Aluminum alloy can be considered the epitome of light metals. It is lightweight, highly corrosion resistant, easy to process and form, and has good electrical and thermal conductivity, making it an ideal choice for many lightweight forged components.

Aluminum Alloy

Stainless Steel

One of the most prominent features of stainless steel is its corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance, which is due to its chromium content of approximately 10%. There are many types of stainless steel, such as 304, 316, and 403, each with its own specific application. Parts forged from stainless steel can effectively prevent corrosion and oxidation and are also easy to form.

Stainless Steel

Alloy Steel

Alloy steel is steel that has other metal elements added to carbon steel, such as chromium, nickel, molybdenum, and vanadium. These additional metal elements can change the hardness, strength, toughness, and corrosion resistance of the steel. In other words, alloy steel is highly customizable and can meet many demanding requirements.

For example, tool steel containing tungsten, molybdenum, and vanadium has high hardness and wear resistance, making it suitable for manufacturing drill bits, milling cutters, and turning tools.

Alloy Steel

Magnesium

Magnesium has a lower density than aluminum, enabling it to be used to manufacture some hard, lightweight alloys, typically in combination with aluminum, zinc, manganese, zirconium, and cadmium. It offers an excellent strength-to-weight ratio and shock-absorbing properties, making magnesium alloys highly sought after in industries that require lightweight mechanisms, such as aerospace and automotive.

Heat Treatment

Available Heat Treatment Processes

After parts are forged, EVERGREEN can provide heat treatment and surface treatment to enhance the mechanical and surface properties of parts. Our processing techniques ensure that forged parts meet the highest quality standards and can operate stably over the long term.

Applications

In the rail vehicle industry, safety is the top priority. During high-speed operation, trains require absolute reliability of critical components and connecting parts. Therefore, forging is an essential process for manufacturing these components. For example, wheels that bear heavy loads, critical load-bearing components on bogies (side frames, bolster blocks, traction rods), and coupler tongues all have stringent requirements for strength and fatigue resistance, as well as impact toughness. Therefore, selecting the forging process is particularly important. Forging eliminates internal defects in parts, refines grain structure, and enhances part strength.

In the wind power industry, especially in large wind turbines, the load-bearing components have extremely stringent requirements for material performance. The forging process can meet these requirements. Some of the key load-bearing components in wind turbines, such as the main shaft, gears in the gearbox, transmission shafts, and tower flanges, are almost all forged. The forging process can significantly improve the quality and fatigue strength of these components, enabling them to better withstand extreme weather conditions such as strong winds.

Agricultural machinery and equipment are subjected to severe impacts, vibrations, and complex stresses during normal operation. At such times, the critical components of agricultural machinery require high strength to withstand these impacts and vibrations, making forging the optimal choice. For example, the transmission gears, drive shafts, crankshafts, connecting rods, and other high-strength components of large tractors and harvesters all require forging to achieve superior mechanical properties.EVERGREEN’s forged components for agricultural machinery feature extremely high strength, toughness, and fatigue resistance, ensuring they remain deformation-free and fracture-resistant even in harsh working conditions.
